SOunds good. DO I still need to keep adobe reader installed for this to function, or will the converter work without? I ask because many converter-type programmes seem to be extensions or modules that work with already existing software. In any case, I'll try it....not having to open the programme at all is the next best thing to getting rid of it altogether.

As an alternative, I suggest that you use a PDF to Word converter. Many times I wait for a document to open with Adobe Reader, and when it finishes loading it crashes and says "adobe reader has stopped working". An accessible converter is "Very PDF to word converter". Website: www.verypdf.com. You convert once and use MSWord then. Hope this was useful info. Noe thing though, Open book is expensive, soIf you don't have it it is not an option. It's ridiculously huge when all I want to dois read text, installs a speed launcher in memory that I don't want, andcrashes almost every time I close it. There are a number of other programmes out there that sensible people use, like PDF XChange viewer, but I haven't heard much from jaws users on this subject. This list is pretty much my only contact with the screenreading community in general and I don't really have the time or inclination to try a bunch of programmes until I find one thatworks. I know adobe reader has special accessibility features and soabandoning their horrible software might not be as easy for us as it is forsighted users. Any thoughts? Thanks. Yadiel J.
