Do these apps allow editing of MP3 without conversion to WAV?

Goldwave, mp3cut, Sound Forge, Audition ... there's a great list
called pc-audio that discusses this sort of thing.
If you can, try to avoid decoding the mp3's to wav files and then
re-encoding back to mp3. This further degrades the audio, similar
to photocopying a photocopy.
