hi,
what you are describing is a new feature called flash messages. you can
turn them off in the configuration manager or there are options that you can
change to make it just show curtain items.

Subject: Adjusting Braille display behavior

Bear with me now, as this one is hard for me to explain. At work, I
have Jfw 6, Eloquence for Speech and a Powerbraile 80 for Braille.
When I move, or do insert-t to see where I am, the information flashes
on the Braille display for about five (maybe less, five seconds can
seem like an eternity when you're waiting to get on with what you're
doing) seconds, and then goes away. I don't want the results of such
operations as insert-t to affect my Braille display. What can I do to
make the Braille display less responsive? I told you it was a strange
question.
Brad
