AdAwareKilledAdshield!?

Hi List- I'm lost! After successfully running AdAware and then
following up with SpyBot, I went to the internet and suddenly was
drowning in pop-ups. I had previously run SpyBot, SpywareBlaster &
Spyware Guard on this computer many times without apparent effects on
Adshield. So it appears that AdAware may have gobbled up the 'block
list' for AdShield. (During this process, I also learned that I had to
unload SpyBot's resident shield or AdAware would find it and identify it
as a spy.)

So, I went to the Adshield web site and it looks like maybe you now
have to pay to get any 'block lists'. When I hit the download link for
the general list, I can just see a list of ads, but no download dialog
begins. I thought that before the program came with a list. I
re-installed the program to make sure that nothing had been harmed, but
it is not working at all... which also makes me think that there really
isn't a block list any more.

There are also lots of other weirdnesses in IE- like no context menu
for example. However, the the MSN address is looking correct. A couple
of times I got a context menu, but it only contained buttons for
installing/operateing flash.

Any ideas about the source of my problems?

Is AdShield still a good choice and has anyone installed it lately?

Cher
