The problems start to occur though when you are following a complicated chat, or when you're chatting with more than one person.

Hi,I think you completely underestimate the web based chat system. There are two edit fields. Type your message in the second. The first one changes after you've sent a message. So in that second edit field, press enter. Your message is sent.
