Hey Chris,No, you'll only have to buy the SMA's, since you already have Jaws. The SMA's will just allow you to receive the next Jaws version updates. Just to forewarn you, though... they aren't cheap. I'd know... I just unexpectedly had to purchase a new computer, and since I use XP Pro on it, had to upgrade to a Pro Jaws license and update my SMA's before they'd let me do that... outrageously expensive. So yes... I learned the very hard way that it pays to keep those SMA's current!Kim -------------------------------------------------- From: "Chris Hallsworth" <christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, June 20, 2009 4:08 AM To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: About window of JAWS user interfaceSo can I just buy SMA updates or do I have to buy JAWS as well -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 Join TAFN by visiting www.tafn.org.uk. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Bruce Toews" <bruce@xxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, June 20, 2009 5:58 AM To: "jfw" <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: About window of JAWS user interfaceA software maintenance agreement or SMA is the same as a major update to JAWS. So you are using JAWS 10 now, and you have two SMA's. When version11 comes out, that will count as one SMA, so you'll get that upgrade at noadditional cost. When version twelve comes out, that will be the other SMA. At that point, you'll have to buy more SMA updates from FreedomScientific if you want to update to future versions. So think of an SMA asa prepaid update to the next major version when it comes out.
