Hay Roden, I have a problem with JAWS not announcing the title of the current
application in focus right from the beginning. At first, I had a couple of
applications open like, MS word, excel, internet, Lotus Notes, windows
explorer, and so on. But when I tried to move between them, I just discovered
that I couldn?t. So, you see, this is not a new problem which has arisen just
now. Please send in your suggestions.

First of all, I can help you fixing those problem that you having. But, I
would like to get some information about what version of Windows are you using?
What version of JAWS are you using? Your version of Microsoft Word?
A quick tip that I could give you. In your first query, usually, when there is
one application only opens, Alt + Tab will not work. As what you know, Alt +
Tab will switch you to different open applications on your taskbar. Since, you
are only mentioned that Microsoft Word is the only application who's open, Alt
+ Tab will not work. I suggest that try to open Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft
Word. Now, there are two open applications on your task bar. Then, try to
press Alt + Tab, assuming that you are in Microsoft Word. Once you press Alt +
Tab, JAWS will announce the Microsoft Excel application. Once JAWS announce
it, release the combination keys, Alt + Tab. You will now focus to the Excel
application. Press Alt + Tab again, will focus you to your Word application.
This is a good practice for you to work with.
Now, try to do this exercises instead. Once you are done, please let me know,
so, we could proceed to your next query. I would like you to know that we
could make it one by one and not inserting or doing those exercises at the same
time.

Please explain to me as to what causes this problem, and why is it
getting aggravated day by day. I am neither able to access the menu items, nor
the submenu items in any application what so ever even after using the JAWS
curser.
The moment I open MS word, and press alt+tab, JAWS doesn?t announce
the name of the application. This is creating more problems for me in my work
place. So, please tell me the way to come out of this devilish problem
Of late, JAWS doesn?t even say out the spelling suggestions when
you use F7 key in MS word. What could be the possible reason for this behavior
of JAWS?

Hay list!
Hear are the details of the strange problem that I am still encountering with
JAWS. You might find it quite strange, but I say that JAWS has gone literally
crazy.
What should JAWS say when you use alt+ tab? Announce the current application on
the focus. Right. What is JAWS?s duty when you press alt?
Obviously, announce the menu title, and announce the submenu items of a
particular items of the particular menu, and announce the next menu item ones
you use your right arrow keys.
Right then! Why is it failing to simply perform such simple functions on my
comp? Do any of you have an answer to this?
I am using JAWS version 6.2 with windows XP version 2002, and I still face
this problem right from the installation time, to this day. I?ve also tried my
hand in modifying and reinstalling JAWS, refreshing the screen, changing the
display settings, and all that my friends have told me.
But the issue is the same! Nothing is working at all! I had posted the same
problem a couple of days back with the help of my friend, and one of the
members of the list, Fayaz Pasha?s help, and he did forward me a few responses.
But, these suggestions too aren?t working for me. May I ask the listers to
guide me in this regard?
Any suggestion, advice, tip, or guidance to solve this problem will be whole
heartedly appreciated
