Another thing to think about, it may be better from a jaws standpoint to use
them as your dsl provider but use someone else as your isp. If your current isp
also offers dsl service, tipically you won't have to change anything. So once
you setup the modem with username password and the appropriate dsl setings, All
of your current settings for email and such will still work. I've heard that
msn for example doesn't support outlook so using their explorer and website for
everything may present some accessibility issues as well as introduce a learning
curve that you may not want to deal with. I know here qwest provides on their
webpage a list of isps which use qwest's dsl service. You may look on Verizon's
website for a similar piece of information.

Judith,

I don't know about the security package that Verizon has. Often, though,
they attempt to sell a package which is contained in their own browser. The
SBC browser is not very workable with JFW, and you can do without it.

My feeling here is you don't need their security package. It doesn't do
anything that you can't do with a good anti-virus program, a anti-spam
program and/or a firewall on your own. Again, desptie what they may tell
you, you should be able to install the DSL without their software.

As for switching identities and/or setting up multiple e-mail accounts, yes
you can do this with DSL.

1. I'm looking into getting dsl through my local phone company, verizon. They offer a security package through MSN and I was wondering if this package is compatible with jaws. 2. When you are using dsl can you just change to another identity as you can with dial up? Thanks, Judith
