Hello all,
I was sent a question by one of the users I support regarding a table in a PDF
file that extends over two pages.
Jaws reads the table using the arrow keys, but, when the user gets to the end
of the first page of the table, Jaws says End of Table and does not go forward
to the top of the table on the next page; this happens in Table command mode
too. The user's complaint was that reading the table flows in Microsoft Word,
why doesn't it in Acrobat reader?
I told the user to use the Table Layer commands and gave them the keystrokes
for navigating from the first page to the next, but, I had a question about the
construction of PDF files and whether that would affect how Jaws sees the table
in the PDF file.
The PDF file in this case was created using the Save As PDF function in
Microsoft Word. If the PDF was created importing the Word document into Adobe
Acrobat developer and then saved by Acrobat as a PDF file, would the table have
been interpreted differently and give Jaws a different experience?
Thank you for any insight you can bring.
Best regards,
