The solution to my request was simply to get some transcription software
with a foot peddle. JAWS scripts can't do everything. I was looking for a
zero cost option, but not this time.

Subject: [jawsscripts] Passing a keystroke to a non-active application
Hi,
I want to write a few scripts that I can use when transcribing spoken
information from audio files.
I would be using MS Word 2016 running on Win 10, and using Audacity to play
the audio , though there is nothing special about needing to do my playback
on Audacity -- any audio player would probably work.
I would want to be able to pause, start, rewind, and fast forward the
playing of a file in audacity with scripts connected to my Word.JSS file. In
this way I could control audacity while using Word to type my transcription
without having to AltTab between the two applications.
I don't want to have my scripts switch to Audacity, load Audacity scripts,
initiate a keystroke, and then return focus to Word. This would take too
much time. I would like to simply pass the keystroke to Audacity without
giving Audacity focus and loading Audacity scripts.
How might this be accomplished?
Thanks,
John
