Thanks Everett,
I looked through the search results and came to the same conclusion that you
did. I changed the keystroke for some of the home row utilities in the .jkm
file and did not have any luck. Maybe I need to be a bit more creative in
the keystrokes I select for these utilities.

The following Google search results talk about this problem, I did not look
through them all and did not find a solution.
The problem is that some users experience problems with the server not
recognizing that the modifier keys (shift, control, etc) are being held
down.
