This is going to be difficult. Sometimes these checkboxes will appear as graphics. If this is the case, you might be able to label the graphic once for the checked checkbox and once for the unchecked checkbox. If this is not the case, you could always try out Hotspot clicker. You might be able to isolate the window and get hotspot clicker to indicate whether the checkbox is checked or not. Geoff may be able to provide you more specific instructions on this. you can get hotspotclicker at www.hotspotclicker.org David Farough Application Accessibility Coordinator/coordonateur de l'accessibilité Information Technology Services Directorate / Direction des services d'information technologiques Public Service Commission / Commission de la fonction publique Email / Courriel: David.Farough@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Tel. / Tél: (613) 992-2779 >>> Gayathri Gopalakrishnan <ggayathri@xxxxxxxxxx> 11:01 AM Thursday, May 06, 2010 >>> It does not recognize it as check box. When I tried to re-classify, it classifies the entire form as checkbox. Is there a way to change this? Sent by: jawsscripts-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Is Jaws recognizing the control as a checkbox? If not, You can try to reclassify the control with the window reclassification assignment functionality. You should take a look at this using the jaws homerow functionality to see if the name or type of control is being reported. Also try looking at the MSAA properties using the f9 and f10 keys. You should find a section in the basics of scripting manual which discusses the homerow mode and how to use it. This topic can be found in the book called Windows program structure. There is also a topic on reassigning window classes. If you are using Jaws 11, the keystrokes for activating homerow mode have changed. if you are using Jaws 11, the new key assignment is: JawsKey+control+- on the number pad. for earlier versions of jaws, use JawsKey+space. >>> Gayathri Gopalakrishnan <ggayathri@xxxxxxxxxx> 02:00 am Thursday, May 06, 2010 >>> Hi, JAWS is not reading the checkbox objects at all.
