Hi Kevin, glad to hear that you've got version 14 (also known as 2009) installed. There is a newer version (15 or 2011), but this isn't fully supported by Jaws yet, and there doesn't seem to be any information as to when it will be supported. There are a number of ways of adding a contact to your contacts (address book): 1. select a message in the message list, open its context menu, and choose add sender to contacts. 2. In a message window, open the tools menu, open the add contact sub menu, and choose sender. 3. By default a contact will be automatically be added after you're replied three times to them. This option is on the send page of the options dialog which can be opened from the tools menu of the main window. 4. You can manually add a contact by pressing ctrl+shift+n, which opens an add a contact dialog. You can view your contacts in the contacts window which can be opened by choosing contacts on the Go menu (ctrl+shift+c). When you're sending a message, if you type in part of a contact's name, Jaws does not read any auto-completed text. However, if you type in enough of the name so that it's unique amongst your contacts, and then press tab, then the name will be completed, and Jaws will read it out. If the text doesn't match any contacts then you're moved to the next edit box, which lets you know that your text didn't match a contact, and you can just shift+tab back and have another go. best wishes David. original message: hi David I have done as you said and the version number is 14. something hope this helps ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
