Hi Kevin,

I have 2 computers, a desktop and a laptop, both of which came with Windows
7. when W10 came along I decided to update them myself, I started with the
desktop, I started the upgrade using JAWS, however after a very short time
my speech disappeared, so I left the machine alone for about 2 hours and
when I returned to it I launched Narrator which assisted me through the
initial setup, once this was complete I was able to relaunch JAWS.

With the laptop I took a different approach, this time using NVDA with its
method of using ascending tones to indicate progress, this worked well and I
was aware when the download was complete, but once again all speech
disappeared and after waiting a similar length of time I launched Narrator
and went through the initial setup as I had done on the desktop, once again
on completion of the setup I was able to relaunch JAWS.

I hope you found this helpful.

Peter Hallam.

Subject: [jaws-uk] windows 10 again

Hi a few days ago I asked some questions regarding windows 10.  Does anybody
know if the upgrade (installation) of windows 10 can be done using jaws or
is sighted assistance needed? Many thanks Kevin
