Another point to be aware of with WINDOWS 10 is that updates, save for
major ones, take place in the background without your consent and can
seriously affect the PC's performance. Most annoyingly start up can
sometimes take a relatively long time leading one to think something is
wrong when in fact it isn't.
If you haven't already done so get Seeing AI installed on your IPHONE
(if you have one) so you can see whats going on .
You may also be surprised to see what is on your screen that JAWS hasn't
bothered to read to you.

Quite often I hear Eric Damery say that they communicate closely with

disposal. Despite Edge being their own baby, it is far from being a pleasure
to use with Narrator. They seem to be trying to reinvent the wheel when it
comes to giving a blind user access to their platform with speech.
When it comes to using the internet, I prefer Google Chrome. It does work
well with JAWS. I use Internet Explorer less and less these days. In fact,
one site I visit no longer gives me an edit box in which I can search for
products. A bit like driving a car without a steering wheel.
The only consolation I can offer is that many sighted people find Edge
equally not fit for purpose. The word ‘rubbish’ among other less usable words
on a public list, I have heard used to describe Edge.

Just echoing what's already been said. I use both IE, with a few crashes
along the way and Firefox though you have to get the accesible earlier
version then set it to ask you before installing updates. So you get that
prompt quite often which you have to dismiss.
Unbelievable why Jaws people won't get together with Microsoft and make Edge
accessible especially when almost every new windows PC comes with it as
standard. The Mail client in Windows 10 is also pretty ropey, I'm still using
Thunderbird as a desktop client. But then, that's another story.
My Mrs, who isn't a heavy email user,still perseveres with an old Outlook
Express client but every time there's a Windows 10 update, it get's wiped off
and she loses everything.
Windows defender comes as a default anti virus which is fine... and free.
Lots of quick tutorials and help articles to help you get setup and going in
Windows 10 out there and generally I think it's very good.
