Yes you need to be alert that the fan might be on its way out and needs
replacing, If it is your cpu fan that goes down it can fry your chip, if it
is your case fan no so worrying but do get it looked at.

Hi all,
I have had my computer on since 7 pm and it is still on now.
Normally this wouldn't be a real problem but before whilst typing an E-mail,
I suddenly heard this white noise which I thought was coming through my
speakers.
JAWS however was unaffected and so I caried on typing my E-mail and managed
to send it withoutany bother.
I then decided to switch off my machine and that is when I noticed that it was the fan making this white noise.
This has only happened once but I wonder what it is and why it has happened
and should I be concerned about it at all?
