Ad George has already pointed out the JAWS video interceptor is
installed during the main installation process, all that is generally
needed is a reboot of Windows for the changes to be made to the
resgistry. If the video is correctly installed there should be no error
messages concerning video intercept when JAWS first starts up. If JAWS
does not start with errors there isn't a problem.
Secondly, a word of advice that may not be obvious when setting up
hotkeys in Windows. When you have gone into the properties of an icon
(usually a desktop icon) you must press tab to reach the "shortcut key"
edit field. When there just press the letter J, you do not need the
modifier keys, windows will put those in for you. Then press tab to
reach the "OK" button and press spacebar, this normally works out just
fine, but if you want to test the keystroke press control+alt+J whilst
JAWS is running, if the JAWS window comes into focus you know the
keystroke is going to work and can risk unloading it from memory and
trying the shortcut for real.

just installed v8 of jaws,do i have to install the video interupt ?
could the lack of the video interupt be the reason why jaws doesnt read
top and bottom of page and why it wont let me set hot keys control alt j
.? any help please ,but also take into account i am a techno
