Hi Paul. To save your emails to a folder on your hard drive do as follows:
1 make a folder on your hard drive or wherever you want to store your emails. 2 open the email, press alt to open the menus, and on the file menu you will find save as. Press enter on that. The name of the email can be changed to whatever you want it to be. 3 tab to the save in combo box and browse to the folder you've created, then tab to the save button.
                   John.

Hi Frank and thanks for the tip.

Will probably get sighted assistance with this one.

Now, as I am having trouble with outlook, and haven't yet copied my
inportant Emails to my external hard drive, would someone please give me the
steps as to how I can do this.

I have around 50 or so mesages in my main folder and a number of folders and
sub-folders within outlook.

Also do you have to plug the external hard drive in before you turn your PC
on or can you do it after turning your Pc on.

Any help on the above would be most apreciated.

regards

Paul.

: Hello Paul
: Outlook has a detect and repair option . click on help select detect and
: repair from the menu, and follow the instructions. it should repair
itself
: automaticly, if not outlook might ask you to insert your software disc.

:
: Paul, it all seems as if Outlook has fouled itself up something rotten.
: I was going to suggest ignoring this original message - let it sit
: there, it won't do anything. But now...
: All I can suggest is uninstalling Outlook, or probably the whole MS
: Office suite and re-installing the lot. Of course, if you're one of
: these people that saves e-mails in Outlook folders it'll be far more
: difficult hauling them all out and putting them somewhere else first.
: (I don't trust any e-mail program and never leave important stuff in
: their evil grasp.)
: So save anything you want, then un-install, assuming you have the CD to
: get it all up and running again.

: Hi all,
:
: Having gone into my deleted folder, it's empty.
:
: Very strange indeed.
