Hi all
Jaws 14, Windows 8, Samsung laptop.

For about 4 weeks I have been having problems with my laptop. Each time I
start it up it takes longer and longer to boot up fully and then for a further
five minutes it is slow and sluggish. It currently takes ten minutes for the
Jaws window to open which is the last application to open.

I have checked the settings and Jaws is not the issue. It is either a setting
I don't know about that needs changing in Windows or the hard drive is faulty.

It is like the hard drive is working at full stretch with a high number of
windos and aplications running at the same time and the machine is running at
optimmum but there are few applications opening at the start. There are no
updates ready for installing.

I am new to Windows 8. Do you need to do a disc defrag and such like in
Windows 8. I use to have too with Windows XP but I cannot find such an option
in Windows 8.

Any help or insight will be appreciated.

Cheers

Kevin
