Peter the voice you recomend would be useful if some sound is left in
place of narator but seeingon the Jaws list today a problem where Sound is
gone, instead of doing system restore which is hard for a Vip if no Sound,
Do you recall the fix. I onceknew and once did it but forget now. So for
example No sighted person around and Pc Muted, how would a Vip Jaws user go
about getting the system unmuted I think that is what the lady on the list
today would find useful. I seem to recall you go into run dialogue? and type
something like sounds and
audio devices the quotes out and you should
find yourself in Sounds and audio devices, where you can check something to
un-mute the Pc, if you do not know can any person on list give step by step
instructions to raise Sound from the dead Regards Dorothy

Hi Steve,

Yes, while you are working in the maintenance area the run time version is
in operation so you will be told when the uninstallation has finished.

Could I suggest that you download one of the free screen readers as a
backup, I know you have MS Narrator but it's not very good, NVDA is more
versatile and is easy to install, you can download it from
http://www.nvda-project.org

Hope this helps,

Pete H.

hi.
i want to uninstall jaws 9 before re-installing it again as i think
something odd happened when installing on a new hard drive. if i use the
jaws cd to uninstall, how do i know when the job has been done, do i get
any sounds or spoken info that jaws has been successfully uninstalled?
never done this before and don't want to be in a mess smile.
thanks for any advice.
steve.
