Sorry, I'm going off topic, but when I used to work with *proper* computers,
(rooms full of huge grey cabinets, housing hundreds of printed circuit
boards,) pulling all relevant ones out and replacing them was the most
common cure for problems.... and those were expensive gold-plated things,
not the cheapo stuff in PCs.

Hi Paul,
In addition to Andrew's good advice, may I also suggest you also check all plugs and connections. It won't be the first time that something, someone, or a pet even, has snagged a wire and dislodged it enough to cause such a problem. Pull them out, and push them back in again to be sure.
George.

Hi all,
Just lately I have had a problem in that when I switch on my PC, I get no sound. JAWS doesn't talk and I don't even get the opening jingle.
Consequently I have to switch off at the tower and turn back on again.
Tonight I had to do this three or four times before JAWS started talking.
Last night I came off the computer as JAWS had crashed and I was going out.
Can anyone advise me as to what I could do in this situation as it is getting rather annoying.
I currently use windows ME and JAWS Version 4.02.
Regards
Paul.
