Hello Graham and George

I’m not an avid text chatter but that is a whole world of abbreviations and
almost certainly there are some abbreviations that overlap with older
conventions.

There are many abbreviations that have been stored in the JDF file for the
Windows Live Messenger software. You can of course judiciously remove those
that you think are excessive in teh Dictionary Manager thus:

1 Open Windows Live Messenger.

2 Press insert+D to open the Dictionary Manager.

3 Tab through to the list of dictionary definitions and scroll
through to find the one’s you wish to delete.

4 Press alt+D to delete these entries.

5 Press Alt+F4 and you will be asked to save the changes say “Yes”
and that should be done. You will then have an edited copy of the master JDF
file in your personal setting folder which you can then use and also keep as a
backup for when you change installations etc.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Hi all.

Using JAWS 11 with windows 7 and windows live messenger.

Was having a conversation yesterday in which someone asked me what bak files
were. When you type Bak in a Windows Live Messenger message JAWS says Back at
the keyboard. I can only imagine this is used as an abbreviation sometimes so
it’s not a bug. LTr is Long Term Relationship but cr does not say Casual
relationship!

Would these be in the associated jdf file?
