For anyone such as Alexander Shannon wondering what the latest Jaws update
consists of:

Fixes in JAWS Version 8.0.1177 (Third automatic update)
The following items were fixed in this update:

a.. Resolved an issue specific only to Windows 2000, which involved tabbing
in Internet Explorer 6, Adobe Acrobat Reader, or HTML help. JAWS would use the
name of the first link or control it encountered for all subsequent links or
controls on the page.
b.. Fixed a problem where JAWS was not recognizing the Review Conversation
History commands, ALT+1, ALT+2, ALT+3, and so on, in AOL Instant Messenger. Now
when you issue these AIM commands, JAWS places focus on the chosen
conversation.
c.. The System Requirements that appear in the JAWS Help file have been
modified to include Windows Vista.

Regards.

  Hi Andrew,

Assuming that you are using Outlook Express, preferably version 6, navigate
to the tools menu and then cursor down to options and press enter.

You should land on the General page of the options dialogue. The option you
should land on should say something like When starting go directly to my
  inbox folder check box checked.

If this is the case, tab about 8 times, or until you hear Jaws say Make
default button to activate press space bar then either press space bar or
enter on that button and then tab to the apply button and press it if it is
available. Once you have done that, tab to the OK button and exit outlook
Express. Hopefully this should have made Outlook Express the default.

I am sure someone like George, or another list member will clarify things if
  I have missed something out.

  press the OK button
