Hi,

some one advised me to convert the file into text through the facility in
the menus of adobe reader. this is a longer way of doing things and leaves
you with 2 files, one of which you have to then delete but at least it means
I can read the file. these files were on the internet and they are supposed
to be an archive on disability so I was surprised that they were in pdf.
