Paul what were you doing on wednesday at the time of the spam, seems it is happening in Outlook,or do others using Outlook express have it? also you do not say which anti-virus product you are running.I do not often get spam but
had 2 recently and for some reason I think real Player may be to blame It
seems to advertise a lot. after I had a Trojan attack last year My Engineer
came got rid of Kaspersky put on AVG he set it to do a full system scan
each day, on both a desktop and laptopIt is a bit time consuming but I put
up with it. Incedentally when it does a scheduled scan it seems to do a
much bigger than a full system scan, why would this be? You see if by
chance I have not put on at 7 pm for scheduled I go intotools and choose the
full scan, counting the numbers after each scan I noted the scheduled is
more thorough.I am not sure why?Dorothy

Subject: [jaws-uk] outlook and spam Email problem

Hi all,

AS of 7:50 on Wednesday night, I have had a problem in outlook, with a
particular Email.

Basically, this is a spam Email which ordinarily I could just delete but
this one refuses to go and if I so much as focus on it and attempt to
delete
it, JAWS falls silent and won't resume until I have alt tabbed, by which
time, I am unable to arrow down and read through the list of Emails in my
inbox.

When I then attempt to close outlook, I get a mesage and then have to go
to
end tasks. I enter on this and I then get the error mesage report which
gives you the option to send or don't send. Although I havbe selected
don't
send, I did send the report the other night, in the hope that I may get
some
kind of response to my problem but as yet, I've heard nothing.

At present, I have around 45 Emials in my inbox, 44 of which can be
opened,
read, deleted, moved and so on but this spam message refuses to go.

I am naturally worried about what this Email might do.
It doesn't have an attachment to it and even if it did, I wouldn't dream
of
opening it.

I contacted my ISP and explained things to them but they told me to
contact
someone who could perhaps come round and have a look.

I hope my Nephew will be able to come round tomorrow but in the meantime,
I
have got in touch with the shop where I bought my PC from and the person
there is going to contact someone on my behalf.

I am using XP and the latest version of Outlook.

If however others on this list have had a similar experience to me, then I
would be interested to know how you got on and whetehr or not you were
abel
to solve the problem.

Any thoughts and suggestions as to what I can do would be muchappreciated.

Thanks

Paul.
