Hi Cliff
I'd say "all wrong" is putting it pretty mildly. I believe we have laws
concerned with this kind of financial extraction from captive customers, but to
my knowledge nobody has ever gone down that road to establish whether the
behaviour of access tech providers is in fact legal, let alone ethical.

I think that's all wrong. I bought jaws 4 in 2001 when I was running my
computer business and had my eyes removed so had to have jaws to carry on.
Regardless of whether you are running a business or trying to use a computer at
home, you only need jaws if you are blind and if you are trying to earn a
living why should you be penalised by paying another
£300 to buy it and pay even more for updates. Pah. The difference between
updateing my pro version now or updating down to home version is
£210 but according to sight and sound the only difference is whether I am
working or just living.

Hi Cliff
I asked Sight And Sound the same question just yesterday, and got the same
answer. Their line is that the home version is cheaper to do a favour to
home users. I suggest the Pro version is more expensive because it is mostly
bought via Access To Work and they can therefore get away with it.

Has anyone used jaws pro and jaws home, and is there any difference? The
reason I ask is that sight and sound say there is no difference in the
program, only the price to a home user or a business user.
