Hi John.
Yes I wondered about Text Aloud. The problem this person has is that as the
day goes on, her eyes become more painful and irritated. the question is
whether or not Text loud would provide her with enough reading options.
Still, it is definitely worth a try I think.

Hi Graham, given that your friend has enough sight not to need a fully
fledged screenreader would she not find Text Aloud better for her. From your
description of her situation it sounds like just the thing. If she wants to
try it there's a free trial. It's only 30 quid, and you can update for free.
