I am surprised to hear that advice from Sight and Sound.
Gmail is probably the most screen friendly e-mail provider from faar.
If you talk about using gmail on the web then you have to make a couple of
adjustments but that's all.
When you navigate to gmail.com you have to be sure the page is read
andisplayed in HTML simple view not in standard view.
Once you are in HTML simple mode all works as a breeze.
Navigate with H for headings using backspace or back commands for previous
webpages, etc.
If we talk about using gmail in an e-mail client then we need to make one
more adjustment and then everything works fine.
You have to go on Google account and activate accessibility mode and also,
you have to allow less secure apps to have access to your details. It is
required because other way e-mail clients will not be able to access your
gmail account proparly.
I am a Jaws user and I use very nice gmail in both situations, on the web
but in e-mail clients as well.
If is to choose between outlook e-mail accounts and gmail I will go with
gmail for sure for one big reason the web interface is much easier to
navigate then Outlook.

Hi I recently sent a message regarding using g mail with jaws. Are there
any settings that I have to alter either in jaws or g mail to make the
product more accessable with jaws. I have just phoned sight and sound for
their advice and they said that it is not usable with jaws and to go for
outlook. Can anybody advise if this is true? Also can anybody tell me how
