Hi

A way to get round the verification code during registration is to use the mobile site and sign up using the mobile phone registration form. You will need a mobile phone and will need to enter an activation code contained within an SMS message. It worked for me but i haven't checked the registration form recently so i can't guarantee that it hasn't been changed.

Hi Paul.

The first thing to consider is how you will get past the
verification box
that appears when you set up your account. it's one of those
enter the
characters in the image into the box. The most straight forward
method if
you have no sighted assistance is probably to email facebook
about it.
there is info on the web site.

Otherwise you could install firefox and download the Webvisum
plug in which
can solve these captures as they call them, putting the result on
your
windows clipboard for pasting. You do need to set up an account
for this
and log into it for this to work.

Once set up there are lots of things you can do but I only send
people
messages, update my status and set up my profile.

for this and other things it is best to use the site
http://m.facebook.com

This is the mobile version of the site and it is generally more
accessible.

Note that when searching for people you can search for both name
and email
which can be useful when searching

Regards

Graham

Subject: [jaws-uk] facebook query

Hi all,

whilst I don't use social networking sites and have not had any
real
incentive to do so, I am thinking of using facebook as I kno some
people on
there.

Would be interested to hear from others on this list to see
whether they use
it or not.

Also how accesible is it to a JAWS user.

Any useful info about using facebook either through this list or
directly to
me would be apreciated.

Thanks

Paul.
