Hi Dorothy,

It seems, then, that Jaws, isn't always quite what it's cracked up to be. I
wonder if other screen-readers have the same problems. As I've never used
another, I wouldn't know.

With best wishes,

Keith

Hi Regarding focus I find even with jaws 9 I often lose Focus and it is
very irritating indeed. often when I am trying to see what AVG 8 has done
since it needs updating very often. I find the only sure way to get Focus is
Windows key and M, followed by the Home key it always needs the 3 key
strokes.

Regards
Dorothy

Hi David,

I don't know just how meaningful my below comment is, but here it is, for
what it's worth.

I, too, am experiencing Desktop focus problems.

I installed Jaws 10 a couple of weeks ago and am having the following
problem:

. The computer boots up into Calendar Magic. When I exit this program, and
press Insert+T, I am told no window has focus, and to press Windows Key+m to
get to the Desktop. However, pressing Windows Key+m, has no effect. And,
like you, pressing Windows Key+D, does in fact bring up the Desktop.

This, as you say, is no big deal, but I am wondering what has changed
things.

This behaviour definitely didn't happen with Jaws 9.

With very best wishes,

Keith

Hi all:

Having installed JAWS v10 a week ago the following is happening.

Having opened several applications from the desktop, closed all bar one,
continued to work on it. Finish work, close. JAWS focus is on the start
menu.

Pressing leftwin+m does not always take me to the desktop as previously.
Leftwin+d does

Anyone else noticed this, or have any meaningful comments?

I realise that I have alternatives, which I am using.

TIA
