Ottawa Canada

Hi list:

Some hotels offer both wired-in and wireless high speed Internet
access, others just one or the other or neither.

You usually can use a modem to make a dial-up Internet
connection, but unless you're just down and uploading e-mail with
no file attachments, dial-up is pretty slow if you're used to
high speed.

Some hotels customarily charge $10 or more per day for high speed
Internet, but some waive this if you are a member of their
Preferred or Frequent Guest Club.

Fairmont gives me free Internet and local telephone calls as I
belong to their President's Club.

I also get complimentary overnight shoe shine, express check-in
and check-out, 10% off on merchandise in their CP shops, which
sells nice leather goods like portfolios, club bags and such.
Also complimentary room upgrades if available.

Some hotels offer a package consisting of High Speed Internet
access, local and long distance calls and possibly other things
for say $15 or $20 per day. While this may seem expensive, it
can be cheap if you make a few telephone calls from your room or
suite. Hotel long distance rates can be totally outrageous.
