This 'urban myth' has been circulating for a few years by now. Yes,
Yahoo do keep track of what you do on their sites - if you don't uncheck
the relevant checkboxes when you sign up with them, including their
yahoogroups services.

Subject: [jaws-uk] blind-diabetics some important info regarding
yahoogroups

Hello Everyone,

I know this is off topic for this list. But I received this Email from
another Email group for the blind, which I contribute to in the States
yesterday, Monday, January 16, 2006 4:27 PM

The Subject being, some important info regarding yahoogroups. I thought
it
was important enough to post on this list, being that some of you may
belong
to other groups that are being run by Yahoo-Groups.

Adrian Rowe.

I received this from a moderator of another group and I am passing it
