thanks Moti nice to see you on list I used to have avg before buying Kaspersky and had all those disasters, and I just forgot how to use it,Abdul said he set it up to be easy and it will scan at noon midday I cannot say I noticed anything but I did not know he had done it now at 6 pm in the evening I do have to put on computer and on the strike of 6 exactly the Western digital external drive says Bounce back up, I think bounce is the extra bit of software Abdul put on since although self powered it needed that something extra I will investigate AVG in a while after all until December last year I used it all the time, one forgets I do recall trying to stop it calling attachments attachments. moti are you using a spam blocker as well? Abdul seems to think AVG will do it all.----- OriginalMessage ----- From: "Moty Azrad" <motiaz@xxxxxxxxx>

Dorothy, I'm using Avg8 and under tools/advance settings you have many options and one of them that the Avg start scanning if missing when you have Internet connection established so your Pc doesn't have to be online at 6 pm or so, when you connect your Internet, and it can be later, Avg will do the scanning. It's there, this option that you have to check there in the advance settings. Hope it helps you Moti Moti Azrad Musician & Piano Tuner motia@xxxxxxx azrad_moty@xxxxxxxxxxx motiaz@xxxxxxxxx Israel----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorothy Ingram-Gorban" <dorothy.ingram-gorban@xxxxxxxxx>To: <jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2008 8:56 PM Subject: [jaws-uk] avg 8 againdear List I phoned the young man Abdul who put on AVG, and asked do I still need additional blockers for Spam, I hope he understood me he said " in that last version you have additional security and Spam blocking" I said I best do a full system scan now almost forgotten how to do it. he said it is set to do a scan each day at noon, now his English is not very good but I assume he meant he set it. so have all of you done something like that? It means I suppose I must have the pc on at noon and then 6 pm for the Western digital back up. I think for the latter it doesn't need to be on line, but how about AVG, as so many of you are now using the version can you give me information Abdul himself uses Nod 32 but in the office where works mr Jamil uses AVG free,so I guess he is used to both.
