Hi,

On reading the thread back, I have to backtrack a bit here.

Provided you get a sighted person to tick the alert window checkbox that
says don't show this message again, John's of course correct.

Removing tin hat....

Robin, John, you're probably both right and it depends whether you have to
log in at start up or whether you've set it up to go straight to the desk
top.

I alter the start up msconfig all the time. When programmes load needless
rubbish onto the system, I envoke msconfig, tell the needless rubbish to go
away, restart, and jaws pops up at login, and at desktop, it works fine fine
fine.From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Robin, I'm right. I do it all the time. If you don't believe me try it
yourself. Set Jaws to start automatically, then alter the startup list,
reboot and see if jaws fires up.
                    John.

Robin, the window appears after the desktop loads. Even if someone can't

see, as most, if not all of us can't you can tell when the desktop's loaded
as you'll hear the windows start sound.
                    John.

Hi,

I'm putting the tin hat on here in case I'm wrong, but if you can't see the
selective mode window and depend on your jfw, a hot key will not load it.
Jaws will not load until you reach the desktop, so like I say, when you re
boot after altering the msconfig startup list you will be met with silence
so unless you've rehearsed how many tabs you need before you hit enter,
you're stuck until a pair of eyes clears that window and allows the machine
to complete its boot up.

Cheers, Robin
