A "cracked" copy of software is an illegal copy.
Regard the numbers and letters which one often has to type
in when installing software as a "Code". Microsoft often
refer to it as a "CD Key".
People find ways of circumventing the necessity to enter
this Code, hence they are considered to have "cracked" the
Code.
And of course that copy of the software circulated to all
and sundry is referred to as a "cracked copy".

Thanks for answering my query. I have read Tristrams and am
not sure what a Cracked list is? Or was it a Crack list! No
surely. I do know some people have problems with some
downloads or Service Packs, this was not a Service=20
pack This was an Update but only given after a criss-cross
It was=20
nothing either to do with Anti-virus updates such as AVG
