If you use CDRW media relatively few players can handle these. There may also be some (very old) players that may not like CDR media. The latter should be a much rarer case now, but it is possible perhaps. It also may be that the CDs you are creating for some reason are not fully red book compatible, I don't have a lot of information on WMP and its burning capabilities other than I know it seems to wor out for most.
