"But your first line of defence is not to rely on any anti-virus program
but use caution yourself. Don't open any attachments in e-mails unless
you're sure what they are. "

This is very much what I would advocate, these days, one cannot afford
to risk compromising a system with a virus if it can be helped virus
cleanup is not a 100 percent guaruntee with any anti-virus.

It's all in the Wiki Dorothy. Each of the terms you query will have a
link to them. The interesting thing in that article was the statement
about how easy they are to produce.

But your first line of defence is not to rely on any anti-virus program
but use caution yourself. Don't open any attachments in e-mails unless
you're sure what they are. Don't go poking around with programs you
don't know, (eg your queries about Silverlight - if it had been me, I'd
have automatically assumed that THAT was a virus.
Kasparsky, AVG or whatever can only stop known viruses, so they can
never be 100% safe.

By the way, my isp notifies me of any infected mail sent my way - yours
probably stops them too, but may not tell you - and I get several such
notifications a week.

Hi again Tiddy some of it I understood, but what is a Kernel? I have
heard
that word before in connection with Jaws, someone complained about a
kernel
32, also it mentions the Trojan gets your Ip number, I think Belark
advisor
gathers a lot of detail and the Ip number is one, not sure what it means
by
getting at back door, is it that all the time we are on line we are open
to
Infiltration? A lot of the abbreviations I do not understand, but some
fellow seems to identified it a long time ago. It can be a worm, one
engineer said not. I think I will read it again tomorrow, but it is a
kind
of Code, remember that Code writer? Dorothy
