Hi Kevin and Phil,

Using Jaws 7 and IE6, I found the form to "give notice of marriage" accessible OK. It's true, as Phil said, the page refreshes every time after you choose a country or tick a tick box but that's not a huge problem. Just my opinion.

Hope that helps,
Amro

Hi Kevin,

I tried your new link using Jaws10 and employing Ambro's solution of alt+downarrow.

This works but each time you press the tab key to exit a combo box, the screen refreshes and you need to navigate through the fields again from the top.

This is a common failing with combo boxes however it does not have to be written in that way.

In fact, the whole page fails any sort of accessibility compliance so a note to the authority who have a duty to make their site accessible and usable might not go amiss.

Phil Medway.

Hi Amro,

Many thanks. If you have a moment would you mind trying the following
link, clicking on register a marriage and see if the form is, in fact
now usuable (its not the same link)!
http://zipporah-ds.datagate.net.uk/CroydonBookings/default.aspx

I'd like to go back to the Council (if the site is unusable) but,
before doing so it would be very helpful to have feedback from another
Jaws user.

Kind regards,

No sorry I haven't. But the link you provided gives an error...

"ZipporahUIPNavigationException: We cannot grant you access back to this
process. You had selected to start a new process and have used the back
button
to return here and continue. However you have also started a second process which cannot be allowed. If you wish to start again then please complete the process in full before continuing. Please report that you have received
error number ZIP002"

In any case Alt down arrow is the only thing I can think of I'm afraid. So
not sure what else you can try. Hope someone has a better idea though.

Cheers,
Amro

Thanks. I did try that but it didn't work for me. Did you manage to
use the form (without problems) employing this fix?

Cheers,

Subject: [jaws-uk] WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY QUERY

Hi all,

I have been unable to use the following link
http://zipporah-ds.datagate.net.uk/CroydonBookings/Process/Marriage/MarriageRules.aspx

On attempting to cursor down the control menu box I'm thrown out of
"forms mode" and the first or second country is selected (I'm unable
to select a country further down the list).

Is this website inaccessible (or, at least difficult) to access using
Jaws 9? or am I missing a trick here?
