I'd need to see the full initial message again to remind
myself of what it says. That is, the message where it asks
you to confirm the subscription.
I have a feeling the command line process should start and
with two forward slashes at the start of a line.

You are getting a rejection because your mailer is adding
two > signs at the beginning of each line, which breaks up
and invalidates the command.

Hi.
I appear to be experiencing some problems subscribing to the Winamp list.
Each time I reply to the message asking me to confirm, I get the following
reply:

Invalid number of parameters.
I've also tried sending the text the original message
supplied direct to ecartis@xxxxxxxxxxxxx, but still the same
result.
Is there something I'm missing here? I don't think I've
manually subscribed to a freelist mailing list before, since
both Access and JAWS UK were automatically
transferred...well, the latter one was at any rate *G*.
