Hi Jamie,

Thanks for the info. I have done as you suggest and it is a little better!

I guess it is all a learning curve again and things will come back...

Hi Veronica,

I hope you are well.

In case you aren't sure of how to speed up the Jaws voice for when you are
typing, do the following:

1. Press Jaws key+J to go to the Jaws window.

2. Depending on how you have Jaws set up, you will either be on the item
called "Options" or you will need to press Alt to go to the menu bar where
Options is the first item. In either case, when on Options, press Enter to
select it.

3. Press DownArrow to find the "Voices" option and press Enter to select it.

4. You should end up on "Voice adjustment" - press Enter to select i

5. Tab around this dialogue until you hear Jaws say "Voice adjust - all
contexts combo". Now use your DownArrow until you hear "Keyboard".

6. Tab from here to get onto the item called "Voice rate" and when on it,
use the Up and Down Arrows or your PageUp/PageDown keys to select your
preferred speed setting. Note this only applies to the speed at which Jaws
speaks when you are typing so hopefully it might improve things for you.

7. To finish off, press Tab to the OK button and press Enter to save your
settings.

Hope this helps.

Jamie

Subject: [jaws-uk] Typing Echo

Hello,
As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I have recently moved back to JAWS
from NVDA. In setting up JAWS I have chosen the typing echo to echo
words but when I type JAWS doesn't keep up and only says the odd word
here and there or if I pause. Is there any way of speeding up JAWS so
that its speech is consistent with my typing?
Sorry for all the questions but I haven't used JAWS for a few years and
have forgotten how to do some of these things!
Thanks,
Veronica
