Cheers guys, I did see a reminder programme somewhere in my travels around the machine but I'll need to still register it in case it goes belly up in the first 12 months. I'll nab my daughter at the weekend I guess. I don't have a Toshiba laptop so can't help with the first part of your question. As for the last part, definitely get rid of macafee and you'll notice a very considerable speed increase. It's not very accessible and it really slows a system down. If you want a free option, Microsoft Security Essentials seems to be about the best around at the moment. I keep getting the reminder by Toshiba Warranty to register my product, stil got a couple of weeks to go. After I open the window, I get the UAC screen to allow changes, but after clicking the yes button , nothing, is this one of those splash screens where I need sighted help? Also, the UAC pops up every time I make some kind of change or install new programmes etc yet I have it set to 33%. I thought this meant the pop up didn't come up every time and the screen wouldn't get dimmed? Finally, I'm off to look around for anti virus as I don't really like the McAffee that's on trial, it just doesn't let me register even although I have completed the wizard correctly, I keep getting the message that the server has a problem, please try later. Does good old AVG Free version 8 support 64 bit Win 7 I wonder? Any help on the above much appreciated.
