Hi shuiyee,

I noticed that you have had no replies to your question.  I must admit that
I'm not sure which math features you are meaning.  Perhaps if you could give
us some more information about what help you need, that might help us know
what you are needing help with.

I've been using Jaws for a long time but don't think I've come across any
specific maths features within Jaws, though I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I do know that there was work being done a while ago on systems for allowing
blind mathemeticians and scientists to be able to access complex functions
using just speech - I think using an extension of XML called MathML, but
I've not had any dealings with that side of things for around 10 years now.

Sorry I can't help more.

Jamie

Hi
I struggle with PDF and reading tables in PDF.sometimes they do not read the
correct column and row in order which is very frustrating.if only people
will make all their PDF accessible to the blind.anyway just want to ask how
can I learn the math function in Jaws? I need to learn it but I am not sure
how. Would appreciate any response.

Hi Peter,

I think you should try using the keystroke Control+Alt+ArrowKeys rather
than
"Alt+Delete+RightArrow".

I also sometimes find that you need to save and re-open the file for it to
work reliably.

Give it a shot anyway.

Using JAWS 17 and Office 2010

I have set up JAWS to read column titles in the quick settings dialogue
box
- I think. However it is not reading the column titles when tabbing or
tapping alt+delete+right arrow etc. Yet when tapping alt+numpad 5 the
appropriate column and row is announced. Can anybody explain that please?

Peter
