This problem of left and right alt keys acting differently on a British keyboard layout, the RH one being alt+ctrl is why I use the US layout. It's much more flexible. Also, using Jaws 7.0 also, I find while typing suddenly it gives the impression of the Windows key being stuck, and it tries to access the start menu in the middle of a message... like it just did with this one... and I have to unload and restart Jaws to continue.

Dave, Two questions: Does this only happen when you are navigating tables or does the Control key jam on when you do other Control+Alt key combinations? Are you by any chance using a Dell laptop computer? It's just that it sounds like it could be a keyboard hardware issue and within RNIB we've noticed a number of laptops having keyboard problems of this sort after they are around a year or so old and have had fairly regular use. I've also had a situation some years ago where a bump on that I had stuck on one of the keys had come off and was hiding down the side of a key causing it to jam from time to time. Hope this helps. I am now finding something consistent at last. Whenever I use the table navigation keys, ctrl-alt with arrow keys, the ctrl key become stuck on and i cannot cure it. I will advise further as I play.I'm now using JFW 7.1 and IE7 though Cheers Dave ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq]** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq__________ NOD32 2390 (20070710) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq]** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
