Phil, thanks very much for your clear instructions, I added French France in
the language options in IE7. We'll see what happens now when I write a mail in
French.
Hope it works because my spelling in both languages leaves a lot to be desired
and I do not like misspelt text when I read it myself and therefore do my best
not to inflict this on others.

Hi Barbara and Marie,
Outlook express is closely related to Internet explorer and there are
settings for languages in the options of that application.
When in IE, choose tools with alt+t then o for options.
Tab down the general tab until you reach the languages button and press enter.
You should now have a dialogue where you can see what languages you have
available and may add others.
If this doesn't present you with further options in Outlook express, it may
be necessary to investigate the language settings in the regional and language
options in control panel. Here, there is a languages tab where you may add or
remove extra language options.

Sorry for Hi-jacking this thread! how do I have the spell checker work for
English and French in OE please? Before Barbara's query, I thought English was
the only option and I had to cancel the checker when writing in French.
Knowing how to add this option would be very useful.

When sending Emails the spellcheck in my Outlook Express throws up every
word as incorrect. I went to check the settings today and discovered that the
language is set to French. There is only one language option in the list -
French. Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to change it to English?
