Ah but Graham, you're one of these marvellous beings who has the knack of charming wilful computers. People like you are entirely confident that computers are not alive because you don't witness the way they piss about with those of us who do not have the magic touch. Irrational as it obviously is, I know exactly what Johny meant. Thanks for giving me the final kick into FAceBook, btw. It's all your fault! :o) Amie -----Original Message----- From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Graham Page Sent: 05 February 2010 12:43 To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: Sorry guys, back to trouble you with Facebook queries... and that's rubbish too. there may be problems yes but you can't just say a computer has an off day. it's not alive after all. the screen refresh option is a good idea. try jaws key with escape. If you just want to do simple things with facebook try using the Facebook Lite interface which is available at http://lite.facebook.com which may give you more of a clue what is happening. You will not get a message saying you have added someone with this interface but you will find that the amount of requests has dropped say from 3 to 2 when you confirm someone. it is not always easy to spot as information changes on the page but a whole new page does not reload. Hi Ami Hope you're well. I've discovered it's all about what what version of JAWS you're using. I've got J10 at work and FB is great with that, but it's a bit ropey with J7 at home. Also, as daft as it seems, I think computers have off days as well. Sometimes things work and sometimes they don't Don't figure, but... I know this is no help at all, but just keep trying ----- Original Message ----- From: Amie Slavin To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, February 05, 2010 12:17 PM Subject: [jaws-uk] Sorry guys, back to trouble you with Facebook queries... Realise much of this was covered recently, but now I have bitten the bullet and joined FaceBook. Seems reasonably accessible but a bit eccentric about when it will and will not recognise me clicking the confirm button to accept friends. Any clues anyone? I remember there were differing views on the site's accessibility and hoping this is something others of you have solved. Also, once I have this taped, those of you kind enough to offer to link with me on MSN or elsewhere, please do whatever competent people do to become friends with me. Thanks as ever for your patience and help.
