this should bring up the contacts menu,

It seems like incert and h doesn't work for me either, the main hotkey that I can think of though is ctrl+shift+o when you press that jaws should read you how many contacts you have online and who they are. You can check your contact list manually by doing the following: near the top you should see a group of tabs just below the main menu, tthere should be dial tab, start tab and contacts tab. Left click on contacts tab, then go back to PC cursor, now you can use your up and down arrows to move from contact to contact, jaws should read their name, their skype name, their status. If they're offline, jaws should tell you the date/time whyen they were last seen online. When the cursor is focused on a contact you can do the aplication key and you can perform certain actions like send an instant message, call, view their profile, block ETC. To search people who are in skype me mode, go to tools, click on "search for contacts", click on advanced search, fill in the relevant details, you can fill in as little or as many as you want, that's up to you, towards the end of the search form, there's a checkbox that says "search for people who are in skype me mode", if this checkbox is checked it will include only those people in your list of results, if not then it will include anyone according to your search criteria even if they're not in 'skyp me' mode. HTH.

Thanks Vanja and everyone helped with this, I have reinstalled the older version now and things are improving! But the Insert+H is still not working, so has anyone got a list of Jaws keystrokes for Skype please? Questions spring to mind, how can you read a contact's status? Where do you go to get a list of Skype me people? So any list of Jaws commands will be very much appreciated, and sorry if this thread is getting too lengthy.

Hi yes you should reinstall tht version as that is the one I use and scripts definitely work with that version, but not with newer ones, so uninstall the current version and reinstall the one you said you have and then skype should work fine** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:-

Vanja, is it version 1.0.0.100 the one you are referring to? Because I have that one stored on my computer and I can reinstall it again if that would solve my problems. I got it from the JFWLite site when I downloaded the Skype scripts, and to be honest the JFWLite site did mention that the scripts were tested with that particular Skype version.

Unfortunately the script do not work with that version, but only with earlier version of skype. I don't think earlier versions can be downloaded from skype website any more, but you can have a look. Jaws 6.0, Skype version 1.1.0.79 with the scripts version 2.0 from the JFWLite webpage on an XP Home.
Using the above combination, I'm having many problems with Skype. e.g. I can't read my contacts list, can't take a call when someone is ringing from the pop up window (I have to go to Menu, Call, Answer), the (Insert+H) command which suppose to list useful Jaws keystrokes for Skype doesn't work etc.
I'm new to Skype and would appreciate any hints to use it. The Jaws manual doesn't have anything re using Skype nor the Helpful Hints on the JFWLite page. Sorry to be not specific in my question but I'm new to this business though I have a feeling that I'm not using the right version of Skype with Jaws as it were.
