Silverlight is designed as Micrsofts proposed Adobe Flash killer. Whilst it may certainly be available for download it is yet to be significant as things are at such an early stage that it is not yet a major force in content delivery just yet, especially for us Europeans just yet. Silverlight 1.0 is no more than a way really to wrap up video content. The hot thing to do at the moment is to claim one's widget is capable of streaming high quality or even HD video content at the moment. Silverlight 2.0 is a rather more capable platform that Microsoft hope to do battle with Adobe by allowing all those bods that already know about using dot net framework programming to create Silverlight applications. So as far aa these things are concerened with Jaws you would be safe to ignore it for the moment, when you favourite site starts to use it you will soon know about it and may need to do something about it, otherwise it is just dormant software on your PC which you do not need. The accessibility side of the equation is similarly in very early stages of being mapped out although the potential to produce accessible content is very much there as it is, it is a situation somewhat similar though to Adobe Flash in that it is up to the developer to somewhat to make the content accessible.
