I've just had a quick look at the new Tesco site and I have to say
it's pretty atrocious, and I speak as an advanced user. I can
understand how it could be a bit of a culture shock to someone used to
the old layout which was reasonably well structured and suitably
tagged. There we are; I suppose they call it progress. If it ain't
broke get the sledge hammer out.

Not sure why Tesco say their site doesn't support text to speech. Sure, the
layout has changed, but it can still be used via a screen reader. I shop
with Tesco each week and have used the site with JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver.
Have you tried accessing Tesco's site with either Chrome or Firefox rather
than Internet Explorer?
If you decide to try Firefox, I suggest you avoid the Quantum version which
has just been released.

Hello Folks.
For years I've used Tesco's online site to do my shopping and found it very
good. Then recently they changed it completely and I was stymied, so I
phoned to ask what was wrong. I was told that their site now doesn't support
text to speech and there are no plans to change this situation. I thereupon
decided that I'll never shop in Tesco's again.
Tried Asda's site but don't find it easy either so I decided to try
Sainsburys. Now Internet Explorer keeps telling me the site is not
responding. A sighted friend tried too and eventually, not quite sure how,
she managed to get on so I registered. Now though I'm not getting on to it
again. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better browser or something to
get me going? I'm told Sainsburys is a good site to navigate.
I noted the remarks about Jaws SMA and can only agree. I did purchase it
this year as I felt it might help with what I need, though again it might
not.
I've been trying to seek help from Sight & Sound Technology but can never
get on to their technology team either.
Sorry this sounds like such a tale of woe, and I'm sure someone out there
will be able to point me in a sensible direction. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
