Nuance omnipage standard or abbyy finereader should do the job. I generally find that Epson scanners work well if you just want a basic flatbed scanner. If you want a flatbed scanner with a book edge so you can scan books right into the margins without damaging the spine then look at the Plustek Opticbook scanner. A friend of mine is upgrading to Windows 7. Is about to put in Jaws 11 which isn't really relevant. He has suddenly realised that he hasn't got the Cicero software for his scanner and horrified to learn that the Cicero software is £275 after a one-month demo. Could I please pass on to him some good news. What is the recommended scanner and software for Windows 7? Any additional information would also be appreciated.
