I'm afraid not but they are dirt cheap to buy, only about £60 or so if you look around for them. Amazon was doing Omnipage Standard for about £63 including delivery and vat and you should not be paying more than about £85 from anywhere for this. I know Finereader is a similar price.

I think this represents excelent value when you consider what the software does.

Does anyone know if any of these scanning software packages can be downloaded for free? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marie Baisez" <baisez.marie@xxxxxxx>

FineReader is excellent as well and quite easy to get to grips with. Can scan and read in quite a number of languages accurately now too.

if you don't want to pay for a blind friendly product such as Kurzweil 1000, Omnipage version 16 works well, particularly if you set it up to scan into Microsoft Word and turn off proofreading after scanning.

Can any one recommend any scanning packages which work well with Jaws. I am looking for something which will cope with books (not just single sheets, letters etc.

 Many thanks,

 Kevin
